Why washers?
- Prevent tearing outThey spread the pressure over a larger area so that eyelets or snap fasteners do not tear out of fabric, leather or imitation leather so easily.
- Protect the materialEspecially with thin, soft or delicate materials, they prevent the metal parts from pressing too hard into the material.
- Improve the holdEyelets and snap fasteners sit more firmly and wobble less.
When to use sealing rings?

What are washers for?
Washers spread the pressure over a larger area. This means eyelets and snap fasteners are less likely to tear out of fabric, leather or imitation leather, the material is protected and the parts hold more firmly.
When should I use sealing rings?
Sealing rings prevent water or moisture from penetrating through the opening around the eyelet or snap fastener – for example on tarpaulins, covers and outdoor items. They also spread the contact pressure.
How do I open a Tenax fastener correctly?
Press the ring down with two fingers and pull the upper part upwards at the same time. The fastener only opens via the ring – do not pull or press on the button head.
How are Tenax lower parts attached?
The lower parts are screwed on: as Tenax Vite with a screw directly into wood or plastic, or as Tenax Bi-Foro with a plate and two screw holes.
How are decorative studs attached?
Decorative studs are available with a screw or push-in pin. They are inserted through a pre-punched hole and screwed or fixed from the back – no press required.
What does M3 mean for screw rivets?
M3 stands for a metric thread with a diameter of 3 mm. The upper and lower parts of the screw rivet are screwed together with it and can be undone again if necessary.
Which finishes are available?
Depending on the item, finishes include nickel, brass and antique brass; shoe hooks are also available blackened, burnished, nickel-plated or in antique silver.

Which washer fits my eyelet?
Each washer states which eyelets or snap fasteners it fits – for example RP 13×7 for eyelets with approx. 6–7 mm inner diameter. This is a guideline and depends on the material and eyelet type; we will be happy to advise you.
