The Plastidur snap fastener is made entirely of PBT (polyester) – cap, socket and stud are all made of the same material. It is lightweight, resistant to chemical influences, flame-retardant and waterproof. This makes it suitable for garments where metal is undesirable, for example in the food industry, in laboratories and care settings, or on protective clothing exposed to chemicals.

Which snap fasteners are suitable for industrial laundering?
For industrial laundering we recommend the stainless steel snap fasteners – especially the S-spring stainless steel snap fastener Star, which does not suffer from cold welding during the washing process. Reflective caps and the plastic jeans button are also suitable for industrial laundering.
Are there waterproof snap fasteners?
Yes. The S-spring stainless steel snap fastener Star and the reflective caps are available as a waterproof combination with the Aqua system.
Do the products meet standards for high-visibility clothing?
The reflective caps are certified to ISO 20471 for high-visibility clothing in high-risk areas. Many of our workwear products are also Oeko-Tex certified.
How long does delivery take?
Stock items are generally delivered within 1–3 working days.
For special products and custom versions, the delivery time is usually around 2–4 weeks.
Which snap fasteners are suitable for workwear?
For work jackets, overalls and trousers, robust systems with high closing force are suitable, such as the S-spring snap fastener Star or the ring-spring snap fastener Super – the Star is also available in stainless steel. Find out more under Snap fasteners.
Can the snap fasteners be opened with one hand?
Yes. Our snap fasteners for workwear and protective clothing can often be opened and closed with just one hand – and still hold securely under tension and movement.
Can I order snap fasteners with my own logo?
Yes. We produce snap fasteners, eyelets, rivets and trouser buttons in your colour, printed or embossed with your logo. Find out more under Custom solutions.
Are there metal-free snap fasteners, for example for the food industry?
Yes. The Plastidur snap fastener is made entirely of PBT (polyester) – lightweight, flame-retardant, waterproof and resistant to chemical influences.
It is suitable for garments where metal is undesirable, for example in the food industry, in laboratories and in care. Find out more under Plastic snap fasteners.
Are there scratch-free jeans buttons for workwear?
Yes. Our plastic jeans button made of recyclable polyamide (PA6) is attached with an aluminium tack, is suitable for industrial laundering and is Oeko-Tex certified. It protects paint and surfaces – for example in the automotive industry.

At what temperature can the snap fasteners be washed?
That depends on the item: the S-spring stainless steel snap fastener Star is designed for household washing up to max. 90 °C, the plastic jeans button up to max. 60 °C. Reflective caps withstand 60 °C in silver and anthracite and 40 °C in yellow and orange.

Which machine is suitable for processing workwear?
The hand screw press Mod. 4 AF is suitable for samples and repairs, the pneumatic machine T12 for small series. In series production, fully automatic machines such as the attaching machine for eyelets or the MLP 74 / 96 for snap fasteners set the parts quickly and evenly.
