Trouser hooks

Which snap fastener is suitable for jersey and baby clothing?

For stretch fabrics and knitwear, we recommend the jersey prong-ring snap fastener (Elegant). The 5-prong fastening grips the fabric gently. The matching assortment is 599E.

Which snap fastener system suits my fabric?

Elegant (jersey prong ring): for stretch fabrics and knitwear, light to medium closing strength
Star (S-spring): for many garment materials, including thin fabrics
Super (ring spring): for high-strength and thick fabrics with high closing strength, also with screw fastening
Plastidur (plastic): colour-matched, for workwear, household and leisure clothing

Which machine is right for me?

For sample pieces and small quantities, the hand screw press Mod. 4 AF is ideal; for small series, the pneumatic machine T12. For series production, we recommend the MLP 74 / 96 for snap fasteners and the fully automatic attaching machine for eyelets.

How long does delivery take?

Stock items are generally delivered within 1–3 working days.

For special products and custom versions, the delivery time is usually around 2–4 weeks.

Which snap fastener is suitable for jackets?

For jackets and rain jackets, we recommend the Star S-spring snap fastener: its double-acting S-shaped springs ensure smooth, durable operation, and it fits snugly against the fabric even with thin materials.

Are snap fasteners available in the colour of my fabric?

Yes. Plastic snap fasteners are available in many colours, with more on request according to RAL. Metal snap fasteners are available in various finishes or custom lacquered. Find out more under Custom solutions.

Can I order snap fasteners with my own logo?

Yes. We produce snap fasteners, eyelets, rivets and trouser buttons in your colour, printed or embossed with your logo. Find out more under Custom solutions.

Which jeans buttons do you offer?

Our jeans buttons are attached with an aluminium tack connection and are available in many embossings, finishes and shapes – for example antique copper, burnished, spray-painted, matt or high-gloss.

What is a trouser hook used for?

The trouser hook usually sits on the inside of the waistband, directly at the top end of the zip. It keeps the waistband closed and relieves the zip – for example on ski trousers.

How thick can the fabric be for a snap fastener?

When riveting, at least 2–3 mm of the shank length is needed for flanging. The material should therefore be about 2–3 mm thinner than the shank of the post and cap – fabric and leather give a little when pressed.

Many parts are available with different shank lengths. We will gladly advise you on the right version for your material.

Are there snap fasteners with a mother-of-pearl look?

Yes. Jewel caps with mother-of-pearl, metallic or cat’s-eye effect in a shiny metal setting fit the prong-ring snap fastener Elegant – for shirts, blouses, traditional costumes and accessories.
