Service & know-how

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Which machine is suitable for our workshop?

The red hand screw press Mod. 4 AF is the classic for studios and is suited to frequent use. The toggle press Mod. 7 also sets large eyelets up to 40 mm by hand. For small series, we recommend the pneumatic machine T12 with pedal.

Which snap fasteners are commonly used in studies?
  • STAR – S-spring snap fastener, versatile and particularly popular.
  • SUPER – ring-spring snap fastener for thicker fabrics and high closing force.
  • ELEGANT – jersey prong-ring snap fastener for fine and stretchy fabrics.
Which assortments are available for universities?

For initial equipment, we recommend the basic assortment 599A. Complementing it are the coloured cap assortment 599C, the rivet assortment 599D and the eyelet assortment 599G – all matched to our presses.

How long does delivery take?

Stock items are generally delivered within 1–3 working days.

For special products and custom versions, the delivery time is usually around 2–4 weeks.

Do you offer training for lecturers and students?

Yes. We offer workshops and training for lecturers and students – at your premises or ours. Just ask us.

Are technical data sheets available?

Yes. You will find data sheets, instructions and catalogues under Service & know-how.

Can I reorder items individually?

Yes. All snap fasteners, eyelets, rivets and tools from our sets are also available individually.

Do you offer maintenance and repairs?

Yes. In our in-house workshop, we service and repair machines and tools, and on request also manufacture customised tools. Find out more under Tools & machines.

Can we rent a press for a single project?

Yes. For one-off projects we mainly rent out screw presses and hand setting tools. You rent the items for the desired period and return them to our returns location in Adligenswil after use.

For frequent use we recommend purchasing your own machine. Find out more under Service & know-how.

Do the supplementary assortments fit every press?

Most supplementary assortments fit all screw presses, toggle presses and pneumatic presses. The cap assortments 599C and 599C1 fit 599A only – they are processed with the tools from the basic assortment 599A.

Find out more under Supplementary assortments.

Do the tools fit all presses?

Most of our tools have a uniform M6 thread; at the bottom, the die is tightened in a 12 mm hole. For the toggle presses and the pneumatic eyelet machine we also use M8 and M10 threads.

This way BRERO tools and presses always fit together. Find out more under Setting tools.
